One of the interesting things about Europe is that, even though there are things familiar across the continent, there are differences that signal to you where you are. For example, there are palaces and castles across Europe – but the designs of the castles and palaces in France are different enough from those in Germany that you know which country you are in.
It’s these subtle differences, along with the specific unique challenges each area has encountered, that make them unique.
And then, there are the unique differences in the culture and history of each area that shape the characteristics each country is known for and that are embodied in its history, religion, art, architecture, and even its food.
Lastly, there are the landscapes and weather of each area. From the Northern Lights of Scandinavia to the majestic Alps across Central Europe, and on to the warm Mediterranean, these have also influenced the cultures of each country.

Germany
There is more to Germany than you might think! In southern Germany, you have the Alps, King Ludwig’s castles (yes more than one), and Munich. In central Germany there is Rothenburg, Frankfurt and Nuremberg. To the north is Duesseldorf.
Switzerland
Peaceful villages, majestic mountains, fantastic food, and vibrant cities. And it’s all connected by a fully synchronized public transportation system that literally runs like a Swiss watch.
